Tough heat for UO's Laura Roesler with Montano and Mackie of BYU. Third would be an accomplishment.

With Montano in the heat, it is sure to be fast. Thus time qualifiers will probably come out of that heat. Price's heat will probably also benefit.

Mary Cain did not make the cut, but ran a great race anyway!!
              2:04.11 with negative splits, and a 30.51 final 200.
She ran only 33.00 for her 2nd 200, which did her in!!
I still contend she's much better as a miler/1500 person.
I wish a petition drive would force the powers-that-be to put her in the 1500!!
              Only 16, but whatta runner!!!!

What happened to Latavia Thomas ? Did she fall or get injured ? Or was she already injured and just wanted to try and run ? If she protests, can she get reinstated if she fell ?

Good, smart race by Ajee Wilson. Really looking forward to what she puts up by the end of this meet.

Exactly, one of only two Collegians to make the semis, and the faster of the two, for that matter.

Ashley Miller from Nebraska qualified as well as Roesler and Mackie.

                        Good point, completely overlooked Miller.

Sorry to see that Erica Moore didn't make it through -- one of my favorite races of this year so far was the WIC 800 -- she ran a great race there.

By now everyone knows what happened, but it breaks your heart when you know an athlete worked so hard for a chance for a rare opportunity, and then that chance apparently disappears in a split second because of a mishap... You have to feel really badly for Thomas, Lyndsay Harper, and also young Amy Weissenbach..

"Unfortunately for Harvard-Westlake graduate Amy Weissenbach, a Stanford signee, she completed the last race of her stellar prep career when Lyndsay Harper and Latavia Thomas tripped and fell in front of her just as she was about to produce her finishing kick, causing her to come to a complete stop to avoid a collision, taking away any momentum she had in attempt to qualify.

As a result, Montano won the second heat in 2 minutes, 2.61 seconds -- qualifying fifth overall -- with Weissenbach placing fifth in 2:06.46, finishing 25th out of 32 entries. Only the top 16 advanced to today's semifinals and Weissenbach's protest for being impeded by a runner was denied, as was an appeal of the initial decision, not allowing her to advance."

2nd semi heat seems tough with #1,3,4 in the form chart.
