    Unless you're talking four versions of McQuay, I think you're being somewhat dismissive of the lineups that Bahamas, Great Britain, Belgium, and South Africa could put together.

    The US is clearly the prohibitive favorite, but I can definitely see Bahamas running 2:58. Merritt won't let the US lose, but all it takes is one 45-mid, a bobbled handoff, getting boxed in a pack, or whatever else to make it a much more interesting race than you think.
    L. Betters (44.70), O'Neal Wilder (45.24), Joey Huges(45.15), and Tavaris Tate(44.84) ran 2.58 in 2010.(those are their seasons best)
    This was the 23 and under team against themselves basically(the U23 Bahamas was 2nd in 3.02).

    I'm confident that the Olympics will bring the best out of these guys. And push them to run fast.
