  • 2012 medal hopefuls

ok so I'm getting a tad ahead of myself, but I see 18yr-old??? Allyson Felix dominating for the next 10 years including the next couple of Olympics, could even medal in Athens.

Another to look out for is a 14yr-old 9th grader in Pomona, CA named Terry Prentice (14.2 110h, 39 300h)!!
Good gracious, if he improves on a fairly regular pattern, he could just be outrageous --- but who knows what teenagers will do, maybe he's outrageously mature for his age and is already peaking, or he may focus on football or basketball, gain 100 pounds of flab over the summer on the MCD's supersize "diet" etc. etc.

Another is an 11th grade californian Kevin Craddock from the Oakland area, also a hurdler, (110-13.9, 300-36.6) both are state-leading times. 300hurdles time is #1 in usa. Also has a 52 for 400h #2 in usa.

    Another Californian, 10th grader Jamere Holland, #11 in usa in 100 10.63, 200 21.97

On the girls' side, two 9th grade sprinting phenoms, Ebony Collins from CA (300h 41.4 #1 in usa! -- 14flat in 100H), and Bianca Knight from MS both have 11.5+ 100m, 54+ 400m! and rated top 10 for US highschoolers
Cool names too-- they sound like champions!

Any other amazing teenage phenoms on the horizon?

More on Ebony Collins 9th grade

This youngster from Wilson H.S. in Long Beach, CA, as mentioned above, has the fastest time in the US for HS girls at 300 h.(41.4) and I've heard thru the track grapevine that she ran an unofficial handtimed 400hurdles in 56++, which would put her in the top 10 RIGHT NOW in the collegiate rankings!
As John Wooden would say, Goodness, Gracious, Sakes Alive....
