  • What is Your Dream Athletics (Sport) Job?

Patrik Kristiansson, 2003 Outdoor World Championships pole vault bronze medalist, would like to train an elite hockey team. Kristiansson, who has a person-best of 5,85m and is engaged to Carolina Klüft, will begin his coaching education this fall.

What is your dream job within the sport - our outside - of athletics?

I want gh's job! Sit around and make the staffers do all the work, write a 1-page rant once a month, go to all the big meets on the company's dime, hobnob with the greats and near greats, have total dominion over the only internet board worth a rat's butt, and listen to my iPod all day.

Once she's of legal age, being Michelle Wie's very personal instructor in one-on-one male/female interactions.

Steve...does your wife know you post stuff like that? LOL

The other advantage of gh's job is that he doesn't risk the chop if his boss found him posting here all day!

Exactly what I was going to say!

Uh I'll take being a world record holder in the shot put, providing I'm a glider.

Left Handed Middle reliever for the Yankees. Can get paid 3-4 mill a year to watch baseball games. Not a bad way to make a living! Or professional High Jumper if the pay was 1/10th that.

I'm actually pretty close. I live in a town of 8000 in the wop wops of NZ. We have a lovely grass track and lots of enthusiastic kids. I teach in a good high school and like my courses. Our kids have trained hard for only two years and have produced promising results and can't wait to get back to it for next season. I don't get paid to coach but the community is looking at finding a way to fund what I do. Pretty cool eh?

Ed - think I might have you beat - was just a track junkie - HJ'er who does multi's in Masters, volunteer coach for years, also Official - now job requires me to work on Track and Field stuff all the time - testing, new designs, go to meets, but - also means I live in the flatlands of Illinois - no more Wisconsin
