    I think most rational field design takes the prevailing wind into account, and situates the discus ring accordingly. As they are a minority, lefties usually get screwed. Stanford is more PC, they placed the discus ring such that they usually get a tailwind, screwing everyone about equally. How did people find out the time for the Salinas meet? I tried emailing T&FN and the Chron, to no avail, and couldn't find a web site.
