    This is great!
    Thanks for putting it up.
I LOVE stuff like this (rankings, ratings, polls).
Have you read my post, here on CE, titled "OG Distance Events "Honest Effort" Awards"??
    Okay, I'll bite.
I'll comment, using your grade groupings, rather than individual events.

A+........Agree, except that I'd try to invent a grade HIGHER than A+ for the 800. Because of the fact that ALL 8 finalists were INCREDIBLE, and not just 3 or 4 or even 5, gives the 800 #1 status!!

A........Agree. At least the B&B portion of it!! All the others were in another race!

A-.......I don't know about this one. Both had "A" winning times (12.92 and 43.94), but the times behind them weren't similar. I'd put the 110H slightly ahead of the 400.. And if Liu had survived, it would've been even better.

B+.......I'd only include the 1600R and the PV here, not the HJ. The PV had one of its best "top 3" displays in awhile. The 1600 had one of the best head-to-head duels in awhile. The HJ, for me, just wasn't exciting. (Much more so the women's HJ!!)

B........I'd place the Dec higher than the TJ or the 400H. (And if Eaton had gotten the OR, I'd move it to "A"!!) The TJ was SLIGHTLY better than the 400H.

B-........Agree about the SP, one of the few events where the Top Tier ALWAYS compete together!!

C+.......Yeah, I'd agree on the DT and the 1500. The 1500 because they ran a halfway decent time. The DT because it had all the BIG names. The HT is slightly below those 2.

C........I'd add a "minus" to the "C" grade. Too "strategic" for my liking!

D......I'd move the JT up a grade, to C, if only because of who the winner was.......a guy from a NON-JT country who is still just 19 years old!! (Don't normally see teenage JT'ers in the OG....or anywhere than in the WJ's!!)

As for the other events, I'd move the 5K and SC to either "D-" or "F". The LJ was blah, so it deserves a "D".

BTW, you neglected the Walks. I'd give BOTH of them high grades.....the 50K an "A", the 20K an "A-".

Why don't you do one for the women??
When you do, I'll reply to that one too!!

And the MVPs of the meet for male and female athletes, who should they be? Usian Bolt and Allyson Felix I suppose?

Yea that should probably be an A- to A. Ashton could have easily broke the OR if he really wanted to.

I would probably move the 200 to A-

I dont think Bolt trumps Rudisha. Bolt was pretty much normal Bolt.
Rudisha was past Rudisha. I think running sub 1.41 after rounds, with no pace maker, dragging the last place to a 1.43, everyone in the field to a PB (Kahki SB), and the medalists into the top 10 all time, is just other worldly.

Yeah, Eaton already got the A+ for his performace back in Eugene...

Agree with Felix, because of the two relays. I'd be fine with Bolt, but would put Rudisha slightly ahead.

I think you are all way too harsh on the Shot Put.

Both Majewski and Storl threw further than every Olympic Champion since 1992.
