The nerve of Birmingham of only wanting to pay the Beast 40G. He more than proved his worth today.
You seem to be confusing two different worths.

There is the worth to the organization putting on the meet. To them, Blake was worth $40,000 when they already had a lot of stars lined up and a sell-out crowd.

There is the worth to Blake himself. He sees himself worth more than $40,000, and won't run for that.

I agree with both of them. I do not think for a second that Blake should accept $40,000 at this stage in his career, but I also don't think the Birmingham meet should be paying him bigger $$ when it doesn't help their financials.

I agree. Am i the only one who saw quite a few empty seats despite the presence of Bolt and Blake.

Looked like a packed house to me. And people were standing and cheering even during some of the field events. I am surprised how much support track athletes get over there in places like Lausanne because it is not like they have a lot of local track stars over there.

Here is a good shot of the crowd:

The problem with that is that Blake is in a class of his own. Bolt's level of recognizability is off the charts compared to most track athletes. If I told 1000 people that Usain Bolt would be racing in their city, virtually all would know who I'm talking about. If instead said that Yohan Blake was racing instead of Bolt, that percentage would drop dramatically. That's no slight to Blake, who is a phenomenal talent. But it's the truth.

Where does it rank all time adjusted for wind?
9.68 for wind but for wind and altitude it's 9.70
Makes him the No. 2 adjusted performer ever behind a pair of Bolt marks. Most impressive.

What makes Blakes 9.69 even more incredible was that

              1. Not only was the race run into a negative wind.

              2. Just saw his interview on Television Jamaica and he said he is currently suffering from the flu and wasn't at his best in the race. He sounded downright awful.

Magnificent performances with two major things against him.

Credit must go to coach Mills. Although Blake was a talent from his high school days, four years ago this dude was watching the Olympics from his living room, now he has a World title, a pair of Oly silvers, 19.26 for 200m and now 9.69s. Remarkable.

Can't believe Blake just ran 9.69 and its Bolt( yeah, 19.58 is good, but i dont think it makes the top ten all-time) that got the headliner on the IAAF report. Phew!

I agree. It might be different in Europe where people might know a bit more about elite track athletes, but in the US, I would imagine Bolt is worth at least 10 times as much as Blake in terms of drawing power. To most people here, Blake is just "that other Jamaican sprinter".

It is not the fastest post-championship race(in basic time).
We should remember 9.77 -1.3 Brussels 2008, in adittion with 0.223 reaction time
Blake made a perfect race, with incredible first 30m(usually that part is a little bad for him)and with great reaction 0.143 i think.

In my opinion the 2nd best race post-championship in the history

You're right. At 9,70, it's not the fastest. It's tied with Bolt for the fastest post-champs best. I do not take into account RT in any of these races.

Yes Epelle in basic time are tied.
So i tell IN MY OPINION, is the best race Brussells 2008 because Bolt had horrible reaction time, wet track and big negative wind

                            Blake's equivalent time with +2.0 is 9.59

What are Bolts best times converted to +2.0 wind?
