EXCLUSIVE: Sanya Richards-Ross, who just won an Olympic gold medal in the women’s 400-meter race on Sunday, is heading to television. WE tv has picked up a pilot for a reality series starring Richards-Ross, who also earned 2 gold relay medals in 2004 and 2008 as well as an individual bronze in the Beijing Olympics.

The TV pilot stems from a development deal WE had with unscripted production company Good Clean Fun (Tia & Tamera). It was shot in Austin before Richards-Ross left for London and offers an insider’s look at her rigorous training regime as well as her personal life. Richards-Ross is married to two-time Super Bowl champion Aaron Ross who just signed a 3-year $15 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The reality series reveals the often intense rivalry between the hyper competitive couple. (Ross was in the stands on Sunday cheering on his wife with her parents when she won the Olympic gold.) The TV project also provides a behind-the-scenes look at Richard-Ross’ inner circle that includes her mother Sharon acting as her agent, her father Archie working as her manager and her sister Shari as her business partner. Sanya and Aaron are not strangers to WE tv — their nuptials were featured on the channel’s show Platinum Weddings.

Personally, I would rather watch the Diamond League on TV which I can't right now since it only available on Directv and Dishnetwork(Universal Sports) that is.

I'm not a fan of reality shows, but I'd probably check it out for three reasons. One, I admire Sanya and find her attractive, so I'd enjoy seeing her more. Two, I'd be hoping that Sanya's friend TrackDaddy would be given a recurrent supporting role on the show, similar to Newman's role on Seinfeld. And three, IF the show chooses to provide an in depth look at Sanya's athletic preparation and training, it could be interesting to me.

On the other hand, it may not be the best idea, based on the history of other athletes who had roles on reality shows, like Ochocinco, T.O, Kris Humphries, Lamar Odom, Bruce Jenner, etc.. If the show provides positive PR for Sanya though, and also gets more people interested in track and field as a few others have mentioned, then I guess it could be beneficial..

Now that Sanya has that Olympic gold medal out of the way, maybe she and Aaron can finally do that match race that's been talked about. Next year will be the 40th anniversary of "The Battle Of The Sexes" between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, and surely Sanya would want to honor an icon like King for the cause of womenhood. All they have to do is decide on the distance, and the negotiations could be part of the show. Hmmm . . . . 8-)

I detest "reality' shows so I won't be watching.

That said, any exposure for Track is a good thing. If her show results in new "fans" tuning in to see her race then more power to her.

3. I would LOVE to see my favorite sport FEATURED on TV...even in a reality show.

All that said, why choose SRR??
Because of who she's married to?
Because she was willing to do it?
Because of her attractiveness, physically and every other way??

I DO know that, for a reality show, I'd rather see one where Lolo Jones goes chasing after a guy to lose her virginity with!!

P.S. The day that American TV presents track and field in a SERIOUS way (Don't get me started!!! :x ) is the day that it snows in Phoenix AZ in July!!

Probably all of the above. She's married to an NFL player and no matter who the NFL player is he gets exposure, especially if he's a starter, in which Aaron Ross is. Heck, everytime she's on the track, NBC makes mention of that fact.

Usain Bolt does a bunch of poses for the camera on the track, but I never laughed out loud at any of his interviews or personal videos (except the one he did with Sanya )

I had no idea she even had one!!
Just got done watching about 10 or 12 of her videos, and they are FABULOUS!!

I saw the trip to Jamaica, her getting the tattoo, a couple of her races, some of her training, both on the track and in the weight room, a couple with her beautiful mother, AND the one where Usain Bolt teaches her a finish line dance!!

And yes, THAT one was the LEAST entertaining!!!

So I'll be watching her reality show...for sure!!
I'm hooked!!

I hope you're wrong about that Daisy. Aaron is not a high profile NFLer at all! Very low name recognition. I guarantee you that the vast majority of fans, are sure of who he is. And couldn't name him if you showed them his face. Not saying that he isn't a good player. He is. But his name rec is really low. Compared to true NFL stars/celebs.

In contrast, I think most all Track fans know who Sanya is.

So my guess, and my hope, is that it is going to be more a Sanya show than an Aaron show.
