Re: where are the home depot results

Good question. The SID at my D2 school gets results up faster than this.

Results aren't important. Snazzy websites and "fun" antics like flaming shoes are.

Yes they are important. But this is the first negative comment on this board regarding Mo Greene's antics. It's all part of the package. Get over it.

Uh, no, it's not the first negative comment about the flaming shoes and in fact it wasn't a negative comment at all -- just a statement that apparently the Home Depot meet's priorities did not include telling people unable to see the TV broadcast who won what. But I'm glad they could help adidas sell shoes.

I'm sure the results are on the USATF web site. They do such a wonderful job of promoting the sport....and of course their "new" web site is vastly improved. I'm sure it is now the first place everyone will be checking when they want the latest news.

I don't get some of you, nothing is ever right as far as track is concerned. Why shouldn't adidas "sell some shoes"? Over the years they've done their part to support this sport. What have you ever done? And if USATF's website is "so bad" don't visit it. There was a time when you would have to wait days to see results, if not weeks. Now if someone's free website isn't just perfect, out come the critics. If this sport is so poorly run, move on to something that's fits your perfect expectations.

Re: where are the home depot results

I don't recall saying it was wrong for adidas to sell shoes. I do lament that it seems to have been a priority on somebody's to-do list ahead of getting the actual news of the meet out. It's now 10:30 p.m. and there are no results posted on the AP wire. That means there won't be agate results in any newspaper other than perhaps the LA Times on Sunday morning. Thread upon thread upon thread on this board gets devoted to bemoaning track's plankton status on sport's food chain, and one small reason why that's so is the mentality that leads to the kind of logic which says because it used to take days and weeks to see results in the past, that's perfectly fine now.

Now, if all anybody cares about are the flamin' shoes, swell; I'm not going to argue with WWE-style fun. I'm sure it was a hoot. And I hope it lures as many new fans to the sport as you shoo away with myopic love-it-or-leave-it scolding.
