I thought I would make a thread dedicated to detailed analysis of various races/vids.


My first analysis/question....... did Shelly or Allyson lead off the curve in the 200 finals in London? Until recent in depth analysis I thought Allyson was leading on the straight the whole time but now it seems that Allyson might have actually been slightly behind until about the final 50. I know certain camera angles can make it difficult to tell. What do you guys think? Vid posted below.

Based on the yellow relay exchange zones the video shows that Felix was clearly leading at the beginning of the zone by maybe 1 foot, and had increased that to nearly 2 feet by the end of the exchange zone. When you stop the video on the second of the Olympic rings she was clearly in front and then pulled away in the last 50m.

This is a snapshot from i took from the stadium's croud, the blue lines are 80m from the start, you can see that Allyson is leading at that point.

From what i see, Fraser-Price had the best start until 40-50m, then Allyson took the lead.

Based on the video we shot, Felix is 11.0 at teh halfway, SAFP 11.1 (as are Jeter and VCB)

From what i see, Fraser-Price had the best start until 40-50m, then Allyson took the lead.

At next three lines (yellow, white, yellow) she (Allison) clearly leads; in fact, VCB is ahead of SAFP slightly at the last yellow marks and could be at the white line as well.

I feel sometimes i am very susceptible/ sensitive to camera distortions. When I watch the vid from 4:27-4:33 it seems like Shelly is in front just a little bit and Allyson is running with her for a while before running her down. I feel like a maniac saying that cuz it feels like I am the only one seeing it but I swear I do.
