Might as well do it now: unless

Actually he would be there if the COC had the same rules as the US-in the 200. Now he has an A in the 400. Looks like that 300 was a sign of things to come. Of course, the 200 and 400 are just as useless as the 300 was for getting him to Athens.

You said it novian, Madness it is!
Tyler Christopher seems to like the 300.
Let's hope he can wake up Shane Niemi, who seems to have stagnated. It would be nice to see both of these guys down in 44.5 - 44.6 territory this year.

Not really when you consider what Canadians need to do in order to qualify for the Olympics. It's not enough to make the Olympic standard -- they have to do it at designated meets. So one could set a world record in the high jump at say the Drake Relays. Unfortunately, that jump wouldn't count as the Drake Relays are not included in qualifying meets for high jumpers. Madness!

They may. No one knows for sure.

This is a tough one to predict. Some of those names on the all-time list went on to big times in the 400m. Many of them 44.2 or better. Then there are names like Doug Walker, John Regis and Kirk Baptiste who were definitely not 400m men. It should be interesting to see if Tyler makes the big move.

Tyler also ran a 15.17 in the 150m at the same meet, if you look at the company surrounding him on the all time 300m list it would lead you to think he is en route to 44 seconds.

    http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/fac ... os/gp.html

    "Elevation extremes:
lowest point: Caribbean Sea 0 m
    highest point: Soufriere 1,484 m "

However, just a quick look at the map of the location of the capital Basse-Terre leads one to presume it is pretty close to the lower end of that spectrum (to say nothing of what the name actually means).

looks like pretoria, south africa is more like 1500 *meters*, not feet.. 4911 feet -- by that calculator, subtract 0.15 or something..

if we're speaking about tyler christopher, im not sure exactly where that race is.. island of guadeloupe?
