  • Brian Johnson

There was a message that was printed about there are only two good long jumpers in the United States, and I wanted to comment on that and say that it is not right to not give Brian Johnson the credit that he deserves as a good long jumper who came back from major knee surgery. Why doesn't he get any respect?

    Re: Brian Johnson

I think that Brian Johnson is one of the best long jumpers in the world but he needs work on a couple of things but once this happens then the world record is in jeopardy

      Re: Brian Johnson

I don't see anybody disrespecting Brian Johnson, but he can't be mentioned in the same breath as guys like Phillips, Stringfellow and Pate quite yet. Has only one legal 27-foot meet in his career and this year so far is more than a foot behind Phillips on the yearly list. Great comeback from a nasty injury, but not listing him up with the super-duperstars (yet) isn't any form of disrespect by anybody.

I'm especially impressed that he can train so hard to compete and travel the world singing with one the greatest rock bands ever, AC/DC.
