There was a message that was printed about there are only two good long jumpers in the United States, and I wanted to comment on that and say that it is not right to not give Brian Johnson the credit that he deserves as a good long jumper who came back from major knee surgery. Why doesn't he get any respect?

I think that Brian Johnson is one of the best long jumpers in the world but he needs work on a couple of things but once this happens then the world record is in jeopardy -

I don't see anybody disrespecting Brian Johnson, but he can't be mentioned in the same breath as guys like Phillips, Stringfellow and Pate quite yet. Has only one legal 27-foot meet in his career and this year so far is more than a foot behind Phillips on the yearly list. Great comeback from a nasty injury, but not listing him up with the super-duperstars (yet) isn't any form of disrespect by anybody.Comment
