  • Gyulai Istvan Memorial - Budapest, 10th July

Collins goes sub-10 again (9.99) with only +0.2 wind!

Also of note, Carmelita Jeter runs 11.07 (0.0) to knock off Kelly Ann Baptiste and Barbara Pierre. Kimberlyn Duncan dead last in 11.65...Jeter still has a month to get back in contention for a gold and looks like she will at the very least challenge for a medal - good for her!

Very good run for Jeter......i guess this is just where she wants to be coming back from injury and stuff....Baptiste again a disappointment for me. After running that 10.83 at her champs i would have expected her to have run some sub 11 leading up to Moscow but it seems that was a one off run.

Nope - he's my all-time favorite love-hate athlete. Whenever I pick him to win, he hangs back so far, he finishes JUST out of the money. When I don't pick him, he cagily sits on the leaders and swoops in for the win!

According to articles I've read on rusathletics, Borza is very serious about the WC in his home country. So far, he's stuck in the 1:45s with one win in three starts and a 3:42.77 1500 for 2nd place.

He's going to have a very hard time making the final in Moscow, I would think.
              Cheers,

                  Re: Istvan-Gyulai: Jeter 11.07 Collins: 9.99

good races for the veterans collins and jeter. it seems like jeter is improving with every race, but can she get down to 10.7-10.8 range by the championships ? i doubt she will be at the 10.7 range but mid 10.8 is possible.

I think it may take a 10.8 to win

Collins is simply amazing...I guess he really wasn't "dragged" to that sub 10 the other day in Lausanne.

Jeter's obvious gradual improvement will piss off the trolls

                            You talking to me

I don't think Fraser has anything to worry about.

She has won every major in 10.7 and she will do the same in Moscow.
