It's Amazing for Collins to be back under 9 now. And now that he has done it twice, his confidence should definitely rising and push im under a few more times.

Jeter is definately back in the mix for a medal, and the US-Jam relay race should be on point.

Collins is simply amazing...I guess he really wasn't "dragged" to that sub 10 the other day in Lausanne.

Jeter's obvious gradual improvement will piss off the trolls :lol:

She has won every major in 10.7 and she will do the same in Moscow.

I think he possibly meant that of everytime she has one a championship, she happened to do so in a time of 10.7 .Its great to see Jeter hitting her stride though it means the race in Moscow will be all the more hotter

Very good run for Jeter......i guess this is just where she wants to be coming back from injury and stuff....Baptiste again a disappointment for me. After running that 10.83 at her champs i would have expected her to have run some sub 11 leading up to Moscow but it seems that was a one off run.

I wouldn't count out Baptiste just yet, definitely don't think 11.1x is indicative of what she's going to run in Moscow. She could be in heavy training and is aiming to peak again in a few weeks. I think she's been sub-11 or pretty close to it in each of the last two years in the finals of majors. She'll need to be there to fend off Ahoure and possibly Gardner for that bronze...

It is named after the late Istvan Gyulai, a Hungarian General Secretary of the IAAF, amongst other things.

That time by Ananenka is an NR (old: 1:44.84, Anatoliy Makarevich, born 1970, Koblenz 1992)

(with the WUG on now, it's apt to say it was odd that he went to the Shenzhen WUG in 2011 but not Daegu WC despite their proximity in time as well as space and his B qualifier of 1:45.58, but was selected for London despite a SB outside 1:47)

I must say that I am both surprised and impressed by Miss Jeter. She has thrown her hat back into the ring. Judging from the times that are being run this season, I would think that Jeter should be able to get into the finals and if she continues to improve she should be able to get a medal.

Interesting note: Jeter has never not gotten a medal from a Major Champs she has been entered in. WC 07 - bronze. Oly 08 - Not entered. WC 09 - bronze. WC 11 - gold. Oly 12 - silver. Currently getting the bronze might be a fight, that being said a couple weeks ago I would have been surprised if someone predicted her for a medal given her injury.

There was some quibbling over Kim Collins' 9.97 because it was with a +2.0 wind.

Now with his 9.99 and 0.2 wind there can be none of that.

I absolutely think that that is a great result. I said that it was too bad that he broke the record with the maximum wind. If this wind had been, say, 0.06 it would yield a time of 9.97 also. Given that, I am quite happy that he has the record because this race demonstrates that he deserves it!
