        Re: Lignano

That is a pretty good result for SS: 11.15 -0.7 SOLOMON Shalonda

A strong, legal tailwind gets her close to 11-flat and she beat some good, mid-level sprinters by a bunch.

This after running a close 3rd in 7:47 and recently denied the opportunity to run the US Trials in the 5000 (after being Fourth in the 1500 at the Olympic Trials). By the way, I saw the entry mark for Darling, who was not allowed in. The A standard was 13:30; his time was 13:30.3 or so.

Not a bad collection of marks for a meet that's probably considered "small" .........and not placed at the top of people's "meets to watch"!!

One of the great things about a country having depth at the Mile/1500m. distance is the overflow into the 5,000m. that strengthens that event as well.

Anyone who has the basic speed to place highly in the "glamor event" has traditionally been loathe to move up, at least in the USA.

I think that the 2:02 for Uceny has to be encouraging as well, as she has struggled all season to break 4:08.

Surprised Uceny hasn't focused on the 800 this year, since she missed so much background work.
