Maurice Greene certainly looks to be back to his old self. He should get his world record back this year(one way or the other).

Unbelievable. Mo runs a career-best (any wind) at this stage of the game on a slow track. Great to see the man is back.

Third Sub9.8 (any wind) for him, breaking his tie with Andre Cason.

Big Green Book says it's worth 9.97. Don't get too excited. When I interviewed him at trackside, he told the crowd "I do my best running when there isn't any wind."

That is a bit of smoke. Gatlin false started. I heard a whistle as the runners settled and Gatlin just strode out, no real jump. Don't know if the whistle had anything to do with it. Garry?

Why should he have been DQ'ed for a single false start?

                  Ghill,

                  You should reference the website:

                  http://desert.jsd.claremont.edu/~newt/t ... index.html

Why do you only reference the Big Green book?

If you are a fan of Maurice Greene I think you can still get very excited over an adjusted sub10 in which he soundly beat Gatlin, Capel and Miller by 0.13+ seconds. Considering wind and altitude correction I believe it is the fastest 100M in the last two calender years.

This is awesome. I mean if these guys are running this fast in late May, that final at Oly trials is gonna be loaded with 9.9s, weather permitting of course.

Was there a huge gust of wind during the 100 meter, because the hurdles only had a wind reading of 1.9, and the women's 200 had a wind reading of 0.5?

I wouldn't be so sure of that, considering that even with the 3.7 tailwind, 3rd place yesterday went in 10.07.

I am a huge Mo fan.

But I must tell you that when I read his quote that he runs faster without wind, it really made me laugh.

His point, actually, was that his balance is better without wind.

But who on earth could run faster at 0.0 than with 3.7 at their back?
