Who's on the cover?--September issue

The September issue of T&FN is due out later this week, according to the date posted last month.
So, who will be the cover guy or gal?

Since the issue will have in-depth coverage of USATF, a good guess would be a star from that meet.
Two who come to mind (for 2 different reasons) are Brianna Rollins and Mary Cain......Rollins for her AR, Cain for just making the team at 17.
But both have been on recent covers, Rollins just this past issue!
So who else?
Tyson Gay?
Might be a possibility......except NOT because of what he did on the track!!
Will T&FN have a big spread on the drug issue?
If so, Gay (and/or several others!!) might be cover subjects.....to highlight that issue.

Other possibilities are Evan Jager (2nd fastest American time), one of the high jumpers (Kynard or Barrett), Amanda Bingson, Sharon Day, Kimberlyn Duncan (for beating Felix!), Michelle Carter (for her AR)......or someone else??

I wondered how long it would take aaronk to find an excuse to start telling us once again how wonderful and special and unique and better than anyone else is Mary Cain.
If GH hates all of us on this forum the cover will feature Mary Cain.
The cover should be Tyson Gay.

Are you blind......besides being deaf and dumb??
If you'll look again, you will see how SPEEDILY I both mention Cain...then even MORE speedily DISMISS the idea (of her getting the cover)!!

I'd agree on Gay....except I'm not certain T&FN will want to have a "negative" image on its cover!!
I think they'll go with someone new (who's never been on the cover)....like Bingson or Jager.

Perhaps because......
1. She's the youngest person, male or female, to ever make a World's team.
2. The announcers (Hutchings, Masback) spent MOST of their time...before, during, and after the race....talking about her, and not all the other, faster, more experienced runners.
3. Despite your thinking that I'm obsessed with her.....there are MANY people who see her as THE story of 2013 T&F.

I could be very wrong about this....but ask the people who select the cover subject....and see if THEY considered her for the September cover.
My guess is....they DID!!
(But probably just as speedily as I, dismissed the idea.....for the same reason I did!!)

Whale rider country is around the corner of East Cape in Ngati Porou country. My grandfather, great grand father and great great grandfather were all whalers at one time or other.

3. Is this for the USA as well? I would put Rollins well ahead and also Gay (first for his performances but sadly now for the drug issue). But I am sure many people, as you say, may well have Mary Cain as the story of 2013. She certainly is a good news story.

On the cover issue I guess we shall have to wait and see if GH wants to share the insider knowledge on that subject

A good cover would be father daughter combo of the shot putting Carters.

I enjoyed it. I knew a number of the people in the movie. Related to a couple of them. Young Keisha - young back then anyway - was great in her role. Unfortunately Got her personal life a bit messed up for a while. Had a baby at 16. Young teen growing up in the spotlight. The movie was filmed on location at Whangara which was part of my electorate when I was. member of Parliament. I used to go there, or past there anyway, every 3 weeks for several years. It is a very beautiful spot.

I appeared in a major Hollywood movie - MacArthur. It was filmed when I was in the US Army and stationed at West Point and coaching the USMA track team on Carleton Crowell's staff.I was in the crowd scene sitting in the viewing stands when they filmed Gregory Peck reviewing the cadets on parade. I was cheated out of the film credits.

The movie was filmed on location at Whangara which was part of my electorate when I was. member of Parliament.
