While I was at West Point we had Mel Pender, Charlie Greene, Tom Hill, Mike Shine, Bob Wallis, Tommy Haynes and Bill Diehl all involved in coaching at onetime or another.
Tuariki - another guy from West Point also in my med school class - this one more successful - Curt Alitz. I think Curt won the IC4A XC title (perhaps the Heptagonals). He's also an orthopaedic surgeon now down at Fort Bragg.
I nearly became a doctor out of West Point but because of the bloody peanut farmer that got scuttled. You may recall that because of fallout from Vietnam the military couldn't get doctors to join up so Nixon & Reagan supported the establishment of a military medical school. It went so far as to me taking the entrance tests which I passed and with the expectation I would then sign my life away for about 15+ years as I studied and served out my commitment for Uncle Sam paying my way through medical school.

Unfortunately Carter was elected and that was that. I finished my 4 year stint at West Point, got me an MBA from Long Island University while I was at the Point, and then got out when Charlie Greene told me my next tour of duty was going to be the DMZ in Korea. Charlie was sort of like the Human Resources Manager for the RA guys at West Point.

      Also deserving and previously unheralded.

      Good choice.

IMO is was the quality of the image more than the who.
My wife loved the emotion of the image... and the Biblical name.

You'll figure it out when he splits the field in half.

That's very negative as it means you have him placing 4th or 5th. I reckon he will win
