At today's Anniversary Games at the London Olympic Stadium, Alan Oliveira reduced his T43 double amputee world 100m record from 10.77 to 10.57 seconds. Richard Browne set a T44 single amputee world record of 10.75. Phenomenal race!

Nice to hear that these guys do not give up sports and are working hard to accomplish something. But sorry this has nothing to do with conventional track and field accomplishments on its highest stage. Comparing these runners with Usain Bolt is like comparing horse race with motor sports.

How about a double amputee, Markus Rehm, now at 26-1 (7.95)?

If prosthetics are an aid in running (which I truly believe), you can imagine what I think they do for jumping.

Are the rumours true that the Century Spring Manufacturing Company of Massachusetts have a joint venture agreement with Ossur Prosthetic Blades and are expecting to soon render Sotomajor's records to the dustbin of history?

Comparing these runners with Usain Bolt is like comparing horse race with motor sports.

But that is exactly what will happen. Headlines like this : "Bolt's WR smashed by bladerunner".

They should never have allowed Pistorius to compete in the Olympics but once the toothpaste is out of the tube it's damn hard to get back in again.
