Watching the BBC coverage of the Jubilee Games I was struck by the many ways Colin Jackson mangles the English language. You would honestly think it was a second, or fifth, language to him. At times you couldn't make sense of what was coming out of his mouth because he was so focused on gushing away that he would chuck words out without checking that they belonged in the sentence.

If only he would stop and think before speaking, but he only has one style - grin and gush. Guess we're stuck with it. Plus it looks like Brendan "Mogadon" Foster is still around :roll:

It's apalling, their coverage . Disrespectful to both sports and athletics fans. A real dopedown it is.

It's great that athletics will be shown on free, terrestrial television in the UK, but the standard of BBC's coverage isn't itself that great. Mixed bag really. Hopefully they'll revamp their approach and refresh their team.

Just get rid of Colin Jackson and Denise Lewis and whoever else is interrupting the sport with useless discussions.
