  • Eaton watch 2014

Eaton started the season in Washington Inv.
    He ran 7.68 & 7.61 in the 60H (PB 7.60).
He also cleared 5.00 in the PV, skipped 5.15 and failed three times in 5.30.
Good marks (especially for the 60h) but will need to jump at least 2.00 & 8.00 in order to have a chance for a WR.

If he's doing all this Dec training (which he obviously is) and still runs in the low 48s, i will be mightily impressed . . . but if anyone could, it's he. Having been a (less-than-All-American) 400 hurdler, I am of the persuasion that anyone with his 110H and 400 abilities could easily get to 49, but 48 is a different animal. That requires a practiced step pattern and a slightly different kind of strength/stamina.

Is he pushing the multi training for the WIC/Hept and will focus somewhat more on the 400h by mid-March.

Another 7.61 for Eaton in Millrose games when he finished fourth (Trammel won in 7.57). This is a good mark but I would lreally want him to run sub 7.60 this season.

The results give the other Eaton (Jarrett) that result and have Ashton at 7.67... did you see it?

ops: my mistake. He did finish fourth (behind the other Eaton) but only 7.67

With that Eaton becomes the second (after Dan O'Brien) to have sum of PBs that is larger than 9500. Still has 73 points to catch O'Brien

                          Re: Eaton watch 2014

Ashton has been in really good shape this season but he hasn't shown up in his recent two worst events: the long jump and, mainly, the high jump. If he can jump 8+ and 2+ like he did in the past he can improve his record.

Eaton has set a WR in Heptathlon in each of his last 3 attempts: at Fayetteville, at Tallinn, at Instanbul.

Will he make it four in a row in Poland in a few weeks?

It depends on his jumps. Mainly on his HJ.
