  • Magness - great attitude - great runner

Magness' performance at Pre was great and his description of the experiance is even better. It can be read in his on-line log.

So when does he break 4?

Is anybody else looking forward to the Adidas meet? Should be a great race with many great kids running.

As promised, I broke the no-cheering-in-the-press-box rule once again and yelled myself hoarse for Magness. He did the smart thing. He set himself up, splitting just over 3:00 with 440 to go, but just didn't have it on that day.

I look forward to seeing him race at USATF Juniors (I assume he'll be there?).

There was plenty of hype for Chris this year. It died down a bit when he didn't qualify for Junior World XC and came back up after his great performance at Arcadia. But he is certainly one of the big 3 on dyestat along with Magness and Felix.

Solinski is awesome, but I was hearing about him over a year ago and he has had as much hype as any high school distance runner since Webb. I really enjoy getting to read about these kids (probably because high school was the last time I was even remotely competitive in running times).

These guys are great. I just get to hear more about Magness because he posts his log and posts on this board. Also, I live in Houston and there is at least a little press here (very little really).

I think Magness and Solinski are both running the outdoor c/s mile along with many many other very talanted runners. Should be a great race. Eric Stanley will also be running and he got second to Magness in the District meet where Magness broke out (4:01+ 1600 meeters - Stanley 4:03+ I think). Stanley is a junior with another year of high school running to go.

Oh well, enough rambling by me.
