  • World Relays- Men's 4x800

Will the United States' advantage on paper translate to the track against the upstart Kenyans? Will the world record (7:02.43) fall?
Can another country like Poland make itself a factor?

I think Robby Andrews lost the race for them. He decided to sit and kick with the pack and put Brandon Johnson in an AWFUL place.

Ferguson Cheriuyut...changed his Christian name from Simon to Ferguson, because of his love of Manchester United.

Didn't someone predict a 6:59 WR for that race? Can't trust anyone these days...

looks like 48.6, 47.2, 48.1 and 45.16 for the US.

Kenya 46.00 and 45.7 first two legs.

He ran his type of race. Running any other way puts him on his own and out of his comfort zone. No one runner lost the race.

2nd and 3rd weren't much better... Solomon did all he could it appears:
                          If I'm interpreting these correctly:
                          Rutt: 1:48.6, Andrews: 1:47.2, Johnson: 1:48.1 and Solomon: 1:45.2

                          52.20 2
                          1:48.60 4
                          2:41.90 5
                          3:35.80 2
                          4:25.40 2
                          5:23.90 3
                          6:14.80 2

what a coincidence! all the splits are round numbers! (i.e., they never should have been represented in 100ths; transponder times only good for 10ths.)
