Re: 2014 NCAA Women's Team Scores (Texas favored)

Actually, Bobek's 6 discus points exactly replace those lost by the 4x1. As an added plus for Oregon, no 4x1 final now means two races less under Prandini's belt overall.

lol  you really think that Oregon predicted that Spencer would get injured and their discus thrower would get 3rd unexpectedly and decided to drop out of the 4x1? Please go back to letsrun.

Wallace was not 100% BEFORE the race. She was never moving top speed in warm ups. She came out of the blocks slower and stayed that way. Read the quote from Prandini from Register-Guard, "Not running in the 4x100 helped me in the long jump and it helped me in the 100."

The Ducks realized a sub in the 4x1 for an injured Wallace would mean a reduced quality performance and still tax Francis and Prandini.

I don't think a 4x100 would have taken that much out of Prandini and Francis if they're in shape. As a matter of fact, some coaches might have viewed it as a good warm-up for their other events.

Maybe not Francis but remember Prandini was running back and forth between the Long Jump and 100m trials. Not running the 4x1 was 1 less stress.

FLorida is 4th at 56, and looks to be on pace to pick up some bonus points from Harrell in the hept, so for now they're part of the mix too.

If Harrell can run this will be a big pick up.

I know it won't last (beyond the next event!!!), but at least for a few seconds, GEORGIA leads the team race!!!!
