..and I thought he misspelled sitting...something for everyone...
I am puzzled by Fernandez regression... I will see Dave Smith at Cowboy Jamboree later this month.... maybe he has some insight into GF condition.

From what I've heard over the years, Fernandez's regressions are caused by recurring of chronic injuries. Which is so sad because he has so much talent...enough, I believe to be another Galen Rupp.

The German Fernandez situation is a classic example of why a great HS athlete will pass up college. He went to Ok St...ran XC, indoor track, outdoor track and was finished within 2 years. Should have joined Salazar in Oregon

And others criticize Alan Webb for not staying in college (learning how to race).

he was clearly over worked at Ok St. Alright to stay in college but if you compete year round you run a high risk of breaking down.

Didn't Fernandez have some problems staying healthy in HS?

Yes, he was out one complete year so his performance on a thin background in his senior year was even more impressive, as was his beginning of college.

He is listed in 3000 in Rieti. Pace or race?

I've always looked at Fernandez as simply an athlete prone to injury and not overuse by a college coach.

Rather interesting set of runners for US folks, including top stars like Centrowitz and Huddle, but also the likes of Estrada, Fernandez (the raison d'etrefor the results) Darling, Dunbar (listing AK address), Mesheso Forys, Quigley, Gotcher, Batty, McDougal, and Lowry. A lot of major collegiate names in this race.
