  • Update re: Andrew Wheating.

Thanks to the front page article on this site about Ben Blankenship's coming back from the broken toe, we now know Wheating and Blankenship are training partner's. So I was glad to hear that, but then wondered why Wheating was not entered, along with Blankenship, in the 5th ave mile. And also why Wheating, apparently not injured, hasn't raced this summer.

I knew he had not been very active this season, but just checked Tilastopaja and realized that he has just one result -- 3:38.53 from Portland, June 15. That was a pretty good season opener, but i don't know anything else about the rest of the season. No doubt I missed some news about his status or condition. Would be interested to read some updates.

Yeah, he looked great in that 3:38.53 win...and then, nothing the rest of the season. Doesn't make sense. Hope someone can fill in the blanks.

Thanks for the update...but that's one race in 3 months...and not an improvement on his more impressive June race. I'm guessing chronic injury got in the way again. Hope Wheating doesn't experience what Chris Solinsky has...from world class to less than national class due to injury.
