  • NCAA men's LJ: best event so far

Okay, so here's how it went: Moffitt leads through the whole competition. 8.15, then 8.19, then 8.29. Allmond is chasing him the whole way: 8.07, then 8.16. And then finally, on his last attempt, Allmond booms an 8.35. The crowd goes insane, and Allmond is strutting like a turkey. He knows he's won it. But Moffitt has the hammer: 8.40 on the last jump! Now Moffitt's doing the strutting, Allmond storms off in a huff, and the crowd goes freakin' ballistic. My big regret is that I was mainly watching the track, and my best friend was following the women's LJ (held simultaneously) so we really missed a lot of it. We mainly started paying attention once we noticed everyone around us totally losing their shit.
