Happy 49th birthday today to Yuriy Syedikh. I was lucky enough to see him throw several times. What do you think was his best meet?

The pat answer would be Euros '86, but I think that the OG '76 as a breakthrough was probably the most memorable. It signaled the end of the 3 turners.

Excuse me, Mike, but Yuriy's WR throw was with 3 turns!

Indeed it was. Several top throwers still use three turns.

Not being a hammer maven myself, who pioneered the 4-turn technique?

            Was it Litvinov?
