ahead of Mitch Potter's 45.52 in the first heat of the men's 400.
With two 400's to run tomorrow, Wariner ain't takin' no chances.

Re: Wariner puts up stroll time of 45.03...
Jerry Harris of TCU put up a 44.92 in Heat 3 to beat out Wariner as the top finals qualifier.
Willie, Williamson, Barton, Potter, Jamel Ashley (?) and Lewis Banda make up the rest of the top 8.
David Neville of Indiana was the final qualifier.

Wow, did Harris cruise to that time? He wasn't really pressed. That has to be one of the fastest prelim times in NCAA history.
