Poles Robert Sobera and Piotr Lisek both jumped 5.80 today, a PR or =PR for both.

Other notable marks from ABQ today (which we very annoyingly had to wait allll day for, they would not post them until the lower flight finished, many hours later):

          Tori Pena 4.46 Irish record
Kaitlin Petrillose 4.36 SB and I am sure Aaronk is thrilled
          Kally Long 4.26 = PR
Diamara Planell Cruz 4.26 I think is a Puerto Rican National Record

breaking the record of 17-10½ set by Deakin Volz just couple of hours earlier!

The Volz mark will stand as the lo-alt HSR.

Um, why would this thrill me any more than all the other great marks??
Because she got a season's best?
(Actually, after seeing the results, I was more curious about what Desiree Freier did there. I think she was entered, but I haven't seen anything about what she did!)

Haha Sandi Morris tweeted that she can relate to Deakin Volz!

She also said she has PR'd every other meet this year, so she is due for one in the next competition

Regarding Paulo Benavides, I just remembered his mom is from the Netherlands. If he makes it to the next level, will he risk it going alone as an American or go under the Dutch flag for potential support and ease of making international teams? His dad also competed for Puerto Rico so that's probably an option as well.

99% of vaulters in that situation do not choose USA.

17yo Nina Kennedy of Australia cleared 4.59m outdoors for a new World Junior Outdoor Record. I don't think the IAAF recognizes outdoor records anymore if the indoor is superior? Nonetheless, a very fine performance! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOkh6Ir6VMQ#t=10632
