The race for IAAF - Bubka v Coe - who deserves to win?

In "The Day's Best Reading", John Leicester of the Associated Press reports that when questioned about what he will do about the Russian track walking doping issue Sebastian Coe said:

"I am aware that the IAAF has already opened a dossier on this issue based on allegations of serious doping infractions. It is IAAF policy not to comment on pending doping cases".

Very disappointing that Coe is going to stay sitting on the fence and at the end of the day do absolutely nothing. He wants the Russian and Eastern block vote so he obviously intends to prostitute himself for the cause of "Vote Seb".

He is and was a politician. What did you expect 6 months before an IAAF election.?

if and when he becomes president he has the option to push for a change in the rules, but to go against company policy at this point would be stupid.

But I, for one, think it's a good policy for Monaco not to inject itself into proceedings over which it has no control. Which at this point it doesn't.

I think he's made position more than clear in the past about drug cases.

He basically already excluded one possible verdict, the ban of Russia from all competitions, that's more than just commenting.

Coe trusting the russian sports minister, seems kinda strange considering the systematic doping was supposedly controlled by the sports ministry.
