What makes for a really solid commercially-funded track & field (athletics) television or radio broadcast in your opinion?
Here is the challenge of the day:
Today, you, personally have been given the television and radio broadcast rights to the USA Olympic Trials to be shown on your own networks with major sponsorship and little out-of-pocket costs of your own. You have a 114-minute timeframe to get in as much as possible and to please as many athletics fans as you can. Every 20 minutes you must allow time for five minutes of commercials.
! What events do you prioritize and show/report in their entirety?
! Whom do you interview (and when)?
! What events do you summarize or leave out of the broadcast - if any?
! What newspaper would you wish to carry the print reporting?
! What broadcast reporter would you want on the television?
! What sports reporter would you want on the radio?
Your decisions will likely disappoint some and make others happy. Today is press day, and it is time for you to explain your logic.
Your decisions just may be the key to future broadcasting, so take this challenge seriously!

Another Question:
Who would you choose of any sports reporter from any generation to cover the Olympics (aside from our beloved TFN crew)?
My pick: Jim Murray, LA Times.
