Anyone know where this will be televised or shown? Bein sport is showing it airing on Sunday afternoon but I would like to watch it live.

beIN live streams the meets on their website(as they do all Diamond League meets). As long as your cable/satellite provider carries beIN you're good to go.

Conflicting reports I have read over the past week on the W 5000:
        1) Ayana and Dibaba are going to cooperate to break the WR.
        2) Ayana says, "I won't do relays with her, because I prefer to be in front and to attack."
        3) Ayana's manager says they would prefer to attack the record without Dibaba in the race.
        4) Ayana says she's ready for the record, but the only thing that scares her is the heat.

The predicted high (Accuweather) as of now is 89, way down from 100 a few days ago. For 9 PM and 10 PM (race is at 9:32), Accuweather shows 79/77/49 and 76/73/53 (temp, "real feel", humidity), and wind 9 mph, 35 to 44% chance of rain; sunset is 9:57 PM, so sun will be behind the stadium by race time.

Certainly better conditions than we expected earlier, but far from ideal for a 5K record. If I were Ayana's manager (or Dibaba's), I would postpone record chasing until Stockholm. There is a strong contingent of Kenyan's led by Faith Kipyegon (14:31.95), Viola Kibiwott and Mercy Cherono (last year's DL winner in 3/5), who recently ran 4:01+. If they go for the record and suffer from the heat, they could both fade right out of the top three. I have this recollection of Gulnara Galkina running the first kilo in 3:00 (W SC) in Osaka (she held the record at that time, 9:01.xx), fading soon after to 7th in 9:30. Of course, Osaka's conditions were much worse than today's, but ...

Right now, it's 84 (feels 88), humidity 51%. Walking around, one feels "sticky".
        Looking forward to the meet.

        Cheers,

The flipside is that Kipyegon/Cherono probably can't run the same kind of times as Ayana/Dibaba, but they have pretty good kicks. Sitting back and not going for the record could also backfire.

Back when it was Defar/Babyface (2005/2006) neither of them ever went for a fast time if the other was in the race... but they knew they'd be #1 and #2 in a sit-and-kick race, so they weren't risking anything by not dropping the field. Ayana and Baby Baby haven't shown that yet.

Yeah, I finally got through too.
Wish the DL's would switch to the results link the SEC and other collegiate conferences use.
They work great all the time!

Then there's that LOUD maddening "music" that plays EVERY time you go there!!

Just saw Women's 5000 pushed to end of schedule....because of the heat.
But with temps now over 90, I doubt we'll see a super fast time.
Be lucky if they're under 14:30.

                            Interesting early result.
In the "Regional" Women's 100H, Myriam Soumare, normally a 100-200 sprinter, finished 7th in 14.69.
                            Winner ran 13.22.

I think she should remain a sprinter!
