  • #banchegin finally happens

Having been on this topic long before the elite walkers started pushing for it, I have a great sense of satisfaction that this scumbag is getting his just desserts.

Russian athletics bosses suspended the country’s top race-walking coach Wednesday after anti-doping authorities placed him under investigation.

At least the Russians are cleaning up. Can the same be said about the rest of the world?

Taking a year to fire ONE COACH does not really constitute "cleaning up".
It's not just a walking problem in Russian Athletics.

They have been cleaning up for years - one molecule at a time - unless you are talking about cleaning up on the medal table with their ill gotten gains

This involves more than the Russians but they are the headliner.

Chegin had been stood down a long time ago. The process was just made official recently. It's not easy to get rid of high profile sporting personnel without causing serious repercussions. Just look at what's happening with Jon Drummond.

I think this was managed very well by the Russians.

Why? Just cos everybody hates the Russians and are jealous they still do so well after the Soviet Union collapsed?

                          This is serious pot/kettle material.

When it comes to doping, before accusing another nation, have a good look at your own.

The focus of the thread is the banning of a Russian coach due to how many of his athletes have been suspended for drugs. That other Russian athletes or other materials involving Russians or Russian athletes are entered into the conversation shouldn't be a shock.
