Walcott injured, season likely over

Keshorn Walcott injured his ankle in Monaco; unlikely to compete again this season, very unlikely to be in Beijing. Pity, he was in brilliant shape.

I see that he's been scratched from the Pan-Ams.

It really is a pity. The jav in Beijing will still be very interesting but it would have been more so with Walcott in the field.

Very odd. Before I wrote that last post yesterday morning, I had looked at the Pan-Am website and found Walcott missing from the list of entrants in the javelin. But I just looked at the start list, and he's back on the list, at the end of the throwing order. So maybe his ankle injury isn't so bad. I guess we'll find out tomorrow.
