But he seems to have an SB of 13:32.35, so he can't be selected. What am i missing?
Ndiku was last years Diamond League winner for the 3/5K, so he had an automatic entry based off that.

Last year he was also Commonwealth Champ, African Champ and won the Continental Cup.

This year, he was injured early on, missed training, didn't start his planned debuts (Doha 3K, then Prefontaine 5K). First race of the year was Lausanne, he was with lead group, but with 600m to go got tangled with Alamirew and both went down ... got up and jogged in that 13:32.

Also note the 7:35 (1st place), only his 2nd race of the year. It remains to be seen if he will return to top form by Beijing, but given his credentials from last year, plus 3:29 speed, he is the best chance to take down Farah, if fully fit.

** Oh, actually ... I must be dense, haha. I'm sure you mean that he doesn't have the standard (13:23). Hmm ... perhaps you don't need a qualifying mark, if you have automatic entry based off DL win or being defending champ? That is the only way I see around it.

Otherwise, qualifying window runs through 8 August I believe, so he could find a 5K before/by then. I'm sure he could easily hit it. Would have had it for sure if he didn't fall in Lausanne (winning time was 13:11, he would have been very close to that most likely).

Ah, that's why it didn't make sense, we forgot to add him to our list as DL winner. He doesn't need the standard then, thanks.

They show "Elijah Matonei" as the 3rd M 1500 selectee. That is Elijah Manangoi, who finished 3rd in the trial and 6th in Monaco, 3:29.67.
4th W MAR is indeed Helah Kiprop.
Still don't know why they aren't sending four to M 1500.

Is it possible they will? I agree that they should. Seems strange, like the Americans not sending a 4th 100-meter guy.

Bernard Lagat's kid sister made her first national team.
It's interesting to see how these NCAA athletes improve right after graduation.
Betsy Saina (who also made the team) once said because she could sleep a lot more once she no longer had the school work to keep up with.

A time bettered (at sea level) by only two Americans, Solinsky and Rupp, twice each.

Three times by Rupp and once by Solinsky. And Rupp has the better PB than Kamworor overall.

Thanks, I misread the list right in front of my face.

I've done as bad (or worse). In this case, I had a pretty firm recollection that Solinsky's 10k was a one-off, so that got me to checking the T&FN list.

Men's marathon will be Kimetto, Kipsang and Mark Korir (who I'm not familiar with).

For Kenyan trials only top 2 are guaranteed a spot. The third team member for each event is selected by committee. May or may not end up being the actual third place finisher from each event.

Kipyego has been selected for the 10K (even though she didn't finish) as well and Ndiku (Mwangangi in the article) for the 5K.

I don't know about Jepkemboi in the steeple. Women's marathon will be Edna Kiplagat, Jemima Sumgong and Veseline Jepkesho.
This is a good video to watch to get familiar with Mark Korir:
Bolt's last year...and my last year as a track fan, it's been fun
