I am really happy for her, this is her longest throw ever, surpassing both the 80 foul of last year Euros and the 79 high on the river IAAF didn't accept as a WR.

I don't think there's been a decision made by the IAAF so far on that. Although it's kind of a moot point now anyway.
BTW, Włodarczyk's series was X-81.08-79.07-78.53-76.61-77.83. That's 5 throws well over what anyone else in the world has thrown this year.

OK, I now give her an "A". Ibarguen, Wlodarczyk and maybe Perkovic.
              Cheers,

                At the same meet:
                M SP Majewski 20.78
M DT Malachowski 68.29 WL SB
                Kanter 64.08
                Urbanek 63.93
                M HT Fajdek 82.07
                Pars 79.91
W JT Maria Andrejczyk 62.11 PB WJL NJR NUR (means under 23, I think)
                Cheers,

The hammee is so different to the other throws which are very linear and derive most of the energy from the final phase, in hammer it is about acceleration of the ball and somply letting go at ghe end. She could go 82 plus this year, thw first woman through 80 m !

A "hammering" friend often complains to me that people tend to overlook how technically difficult and sophisticated the event is...sorry I digress. It's really mind-boggling an improvement!
