  • New World record for backwards 800-Meter Run!

OXFORD, Ohio - Brian Godsey (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East), an alumnus of the Miami University men's cross country and track & field teams, broke the world record in the backwards 800m, Tuesday evening, at George L. Rider Track on the campus of Miami University. Godsey completed the distance in 2:50.45, topping the previous standard of 2:57.35, held by Stefano Morselli of Italy.

I tell you what, I can juggle with the best of them. I wasn't too bad of a 400 meter runner either. I wonder what the world record is for juggling three tennis balls around 400 meters in lane 4. My desire to come back and train again has just been elevated...

"What will someone come up with next"

cartwheels, somersaulting, crawling, hand-walking, one-legged hopping, 2-legged hopping, (hopping frontwards and backwards, 2 different events)

google for "joggling" and other things and I'm sure you'll find what you want. We saw guy set WR in the 200 at Pre a year or three ago. (fortunately, they ton't have wind-aid rules)

Finally, some really IMPORTANT news! Can we get a full list of the age-group records for this event?

Next up: Co-ed kissing 400m dash. First pair around the track with lips locked the entire distance wins a free entry into the carnival and their names entered into the Hall of Craze.

"world record"? Shouldn't it just be a world best since I have yet to hear of the IAAF recognizing backwards 800m as an accepted event.

And furthermore, aren't all world records or bests supposed to be supported by a passed doping test before being accepted? Surely someone who thinks it's a good idea to see how fast they can run backwards must be on something.

And after that co-ed . . . what? they don't allow that sort of thing on this board?

                          Never mind.

right and why stop there? oh and a few more: piggybacking, and running on lips.
