Join FAST (Federation of American Statisticians of Track) and get the book free (well, sorta - the annual fee covers the cost). There are newsletters quarterly.

Another Book Worth Plugging: FAST Annual
Yes, the board's rules prohibit "commercial activity" but the key lies in the defintition of what's truly commercial and what isn't. Needless to say, that definition rests with us. Basically, if it's good for the sport, we're all for it (like invididuals buying and selling OT tickets at face value). And like the OT history book that's another thread.
For the stat-minded among you, the annual collaboration between USATF and the Federation of American Statisticians of Track (FAST) is worth having.
All-time lists M&W 50 deep, 2003 year lists 50 deep, all-time junior and college lists, 2003 junior lists, walk lists, USATF bio info on loads of athletes, records, photos, and then the FAST index with career progressions on about 2500 athletes. "682 pages of worthwhile bullshit" as one insider puts it.
If you're interested in a copy (back years available too I suspect) contact Scott Davis
