Most jump spikes do not come with 1/4" pyramids any more. Many facilities ONLY allow 1/4" pyramids. If you are at a school, talk to your coach about getting some, otherwise you should go online, look at 1/4" pyramids, and buy some if you don't have any. The odds are good that you will end up at a facility that does not allow the spikes that came with your shoes.

there's also:
* needle - skinnier - tears up tracks.
* a weird, step-down one that looks like a ziggurat. I think they're for high-end Mondo tracks
The most important holes are the ones on the toe and outside of the shoe, since pronation is normal. There used to be a limitation of 6 spikes, but I think that's long gone.
I think what you're describing as 'round' are just shorter ones, that you probably don't need. Maybe distance runners prefer them.

Sorry if this question sounds stupid!

Triple Jump Spikes
Hi,
I just brought my first triple jump shoes and got two different types of spikes with it. One type is the pointed one and the other is more round. Both types fit in to the holes.
Does anyone know where each spike is supposed to go?
Thank a lot.Tags: None
