I won't miss the West Grandstand....

On the other hand keeping the old East Grandstand is a fine idea. And keep the local regulars happy.

Why do you like the east more than the west?

Besides a better view, the seats are unchanged and comfortable. They redid the seating in the West and they are horrible now. I sat in them at Pre, because I went with someone who insisted, and the only way I survived with rather stiff knees was sitting in the aisle seat. And the 6'2" guy sitting across the aisle said the same thing.

The East is where Eugene old-timers go.

Not having someone's knees in my back for hours at Hayward will indeed be a fantastic day whenever it arrives.

East stands are also significantly better for restrooms and drinking fountains. I'm sure that will be rectified in the new stadium, too.

I once asked for a peak inside. Denied. Really don't know the purpose of the building. A Bowerman building should have much more respect.

I believe his name will be prominent in the new complex.

Indeed, it's official new name will be

"Hayward Field at the Bowerman Track and Field Complex"
