Re: golden south vs. greatsouthwest
I was visiting Orlando and saw the Golden South yesterday. There were some good marks like Stephanie Smith running a :52.14 400, Katya Kostetskaya running :59.26 in the 400 hurdles while she can run a great 800. What I really want to say is that looking at potential, Juanita Broaddus from William Penn in Philly, has the look of greatness. She won the 100 in :11.82 and the 200 in :23.75, but for me, who is old enough to have seen Wilma Rudolph run, she has the same build and the same smooth as silk running style. The 400 may be her best event. The mile and above left something to be desired, but Erin Bedell from Texas ran a 4:57.87 as a sophomore. The meet was definitely worth a visit with all prices, admission and products extremely low.
