My guess is no because someone will have a dominant year that will overshadow her WR. But she's already one of the favorites for US AOY.

Ayana and Włodarczyk are both undefeated so far; if they stay that way (and who's going to stop them?), I wouldn't want to make the case for Harrison. Unless she breaks the WR several more times

Semenya (Who I feel may break the 800 WR), Ayana , Perkovic (Who I think is undefeated) and the Anita are in with a shot if they win Olympic Gold and continue their streak.

Not that I can think of any potential candidates who haven't been pinged for drugs already

I just posted this on the London DL thread, before I came here ...

Depending on how there rest of the year plays out, she will be in the running for the w100H. But remember, the criteria is (1) honors won, (2) win-loss against her competition, and (3) sequence of times. If she dominates the DL, and runs some more 12.2x times, then there is precedent for ranking her #1 in the w100H.

However, the only way I see her getting AOY is to run the table in the DL, with another WR or 2. And even then, if DS wins 2 golds in Rio, with a sub 21.7 & sub 10.8, or if Ayana wins golds in the 5 & 10k, I don't see KH as AOY.

I would also put Perkovic and Wlordaczyk in the mix, if they keep to their winning ways and dominance over the competition.
