Urbanek is the WC bronze medalist and no. 2 in the DL this year. Any particular reason he's not in your top 10?

Don't know what's wrong with Urbanek, but in the last six weeks he's finished 3rd in the Polish champs, 9th at Euros and 7th at Monaco. Very up-and-down season.

True, but in his last competition before Rio he was over 65 and only half a meter behind Małachowski.

I don't expect to see him on the podium, but it's still weird that Stahl, Finley and Dacres should be given better chances than him.

Finley is hard to assess because he's competed only in America. Ståhl being ahead of Urbanek is not that weird; he was 5th at the WC last year, 5th at the EC this year and has had a nice, fairly consistent season. Urbanek is 4-2 against him this year (and 16-2 lifetime according to Tilastopaja), but has lost the last two; it could go either way.

As usual in the discus, behind the very top it's wide open, with the whole field bunched together. Take Lukas Weißhaidinger - he's thrown 64+ in six consecutive meets, and he still wouldn't make most people's top 10 formcharts. (In a way, he's the Austrian Mason Finley.) The EC qualifying set several new BEMFP records, including the best non-qualifying mark ever (63.60); and although that was helped by favorable conditions, the Oly qualifying will also be super-tough and some good throwers will go out.

That said, I do think Urbanek should be on the formchart, and he wouldn't look out of place in 5th or 6th.

I have Urbanek 6th on my list. He might be a little more inconsistent this year than last. But he is throwing farther in 2016. And I like the way he stepped up in Beijing last year to finish on the podium.

Apparently he isn't that bad :-).

Is there a better results site than IAAF, which isn't keeping up with the discus.

Robert Harting wildly off form; fouls his first two qualifying attempts.

Robert Harting up for his third throw, needs almost 63.00 to advance.

                              62.21, he won't advance
