It has been a long time since I've seen a woman who is as exciting to watch as Laura Muir. She deserves to have great success and fans who appreciate what she brings to the sport. There's absolutely no cloud of suspicion hanging over her and she doesn't mess around.

She ran a leg in a 4x1000 at the Edinbrugh XC races today.

BTW, Heath did not win (4th) but the US, Korir, does get another, as well as a narrow overall victory. See LetsRun, which has good coverage and a (not currently working) video.

#1: Great to see many powerful front runners on the women's distance side (Muir, Ayana, Jebet, Aprot). Now we need to see more from the men.

#2: Farah was in shockingly terrible state. Not even in contention since the first step.

#3: I wonder how many Kenyan-Americans will run for USA at the X-country championships? They may have a chance for team bronze.

Looks like Mo is in background training. These XC races are the ones that he can lose without hurting his record. He likely felt that he should run for Britain and di actually move up systematically through the race (hey, he was only one place behind three-time winner Garret Heath).

Much easier to be a front runner on the womens side.

Me too. She goes as hard as she can. And clearly has prepared for it. I love the way she races

Muir and Obiri battling 3000m indoors next month. Will be a fantastic battle. Both in tremendous shape. Not sure if there are any pacers, but if there are no, I give a slight edge to Obiri who can both grind and kick.

I am excited to watch this matchup too. But I wonder if those longer races (3k, 5k) suit with her attempt to break the british (and maybe even world!) record in the 1000m. Even more because her 800m speed isn't great either (only 2.00) so...

Muir wins the 3000m at the Karlsruhe indoor meeting, setting an ER and meet record of 8:26.41. Helen Obiri was second in 8:29.46

Remove 2 notorious nationalities from the all time outdoor list and there are about a dozen women who've run faster - outdoors. What a great performance.

Talking about Laura's 800m speed. I expect her to go well under 2 minutes this year.

That's a great run by Muir -- thanks for posting the link, above. In addition to the European record, as noted already, this makes her #5 performer a-t at this indoor distance. Obiri, by the way, also ran a PB, and remains on the a-t list at #10, now with this new PB.

Klosterhalfen (GER) continues to improve and impress. Her 8:51.75 is 4+ second PB, though only her 2nd attempt at this indoor distance. That said, this is also her indoor season opener, so a really promising mark. She has 8:46.74 outdoor from the WJC from last year. She will turn 20yo later this month.
