    That's a good starting point, but, yes, there are other factors that would have to be considered in the final selection. Essentially, if you finished top 4, you'd have to run yourself OFF the squad by lack of commitment or inability to work as a team.

      Manual for new coach; Relay Running 101 :

      1. First runner: Wait for gun, then run. Stay in your lane. Pass baton to second runner, in the zone. Make sure he has it before you let go.

      2. 2nd runner: Do not leave zone until you have a firm grip on the baton. Run. Stay in your lane, pass baton to 3rd runner in the zone. Make sure he has it before you let go.

      3. 3rd runner: Do not leave zone until you have a firm grip on the baton. Run. Stay in your lane, pass baton to 4th runner in the zone. Make sure he has it before you let go.

      4th runner: Do not leave zone until you have a firm grip on the baton. Run. Stay in your lane, and then run all the way through the finish line.

      Easy ! Same instructions can be used for Middle School runners.
