  • Thoughts and expectations for the PV summit?

There seems to have been very little buzz created about it this year or at least I haven't seen much.

How bad is the weather in Reno or getting Reno? It sucks up here in Portland
    Who are the elite vaulters?

Follow my Twitter for updates! The elites jump tonight. Weather delayed some people, especially those driving, but most made it. Sam Kendricks got stuck in Chicago and I haven't seen him yet, but I do not think he planned to compete anyway.

Off the top of my head, Sandi Morris won with 4.65, took three decent attempts at 4.80. Mike Arnold and Jeff Coover 5.55. I'll try and post complete results later, but nothing earth shattering.

Morris tweeted that she was sorry she didn't hang around to sign autographs for everybody, but had to get back to hotel beause she had "jammed" her ankle.

I don't think it was anything serious, I didn't see her limping, but part of staying healthy is keeping minor things from becoming major things!

Last year was a World Indoor year, so I think the top athletes were at a different stage of training. This year there isn't anything major indoors, so we had vaulters like Stefanidi and Kendricks not jumping (Kendricks never made it, but even if he had he didn't plan to compete) and vaulters like Saxer and Morris didn't look quite as sharp as last year at this time.

It was still a great competition and it's always a lot of fun for the kids to get to interact so closely with the elites

There is certainly something to be said for NOT having to be so 'on' so early, knowing the the outdoor season runs into September.
