      Wow is right. I just looked up the indoor WR. It's 3:02.13.

      I would have thought it was faster than that.

      It would be something if some college kids broke the indoor WR.

        Note that indoor American Record is faster than the WR. 3:01.96

        I think I have the facts on non-ratification of that mark as a WR stright here:

        At one point the IAAF required EPO testing for distance WRs, then eventually changed it to all WRs. When the 3:01.96 was run, there was formal testing, but EPO wasn't included in the protocol because somebody didn't realize the rules had changed. It was ratified as an AR because USATF rules didn't include the EPO proviso.
