  • Tough NCAA double for Daniel Lincoln

No, not the steeple/5000, but the steeple/10,000!

Heats for the steeple are on Wednesday, 10k is Thursday, and then steeple final on Saturday.

Tired legs won't be finding those final barriers easy on Saturday night!

    Cragg will be doubling 5/10.

It's probably not going to help him make the world steeple team the following week at USATF either. At NCs, if he scratches the 10K can he still run the steeple final (if he qualifies)?

1964 NCs, John Valiant of Washington State:

      Thursday--29:57.2 for 4th in the 10K.
      Friday--14:20.9 for 8th in the 5K.
Saturday--8:57.1 for 4th in the Steeple.

Didn't get picked for the Canadian Olympic team, much to the chagrin of Westerners, who by then were used to being jobbed by the Ontario mafia.

Oh yeah, i forgot about Julio Marin of USC who in 1963 (in Albuquerque, so the times are irrelevant) won the 5K and 10K and was 4th in the steeple.
