  • Where is Allyson Felix?

We haven't seen her run all year yet. Not sure what's going on.

She is scheduled to run at the Jamaica Invitational on May 20th. Lets see if she shows up.

She has run about 2-3 races this year already though.

I assume very small meets. I guess she is laying low for now.

I believe she did the 4x1 at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee invitational, and the 4x1 and 4x4 at Mt. Sac Relays, where she ran a 49.9 split. She said she's making a conscious effort to compete less this year (she's older, has to be wiser with her racing) and trying to stick to local meets as much as possible.

She has the Jamaica Invitational scheduled for May 20, and the Prefontaine Classic a week later, where she'll be doing her pet event (200m) with Thompson, Schippers, and Bowie in the line-up.

Provided that she has no hiccups this year, I'm really excited to see what she can do in London. I'm sure she and her camp are dying for a rematch with Miller-Uibo now that the two are inextricably linked in the history books.

lol...sorry trackcamp, the Prefontaine GL is far more significant than a meet in Jamaica that cannot ever get 50% stadium capacity despite many of Jamaica's star sprinters regularly showing up.

Allow me—admittedly currently in a very bad mood—to add a new stricture to the Board guidelines: thou shalt not be in insufferable prick, at the risk of being banned.

              Oh sorry, you lose!

I hope its "you-know-who". I just find him/her so annoying. If I met him/her in person, I probably would find him/her to be an ok guy/girl. (I don't know if Tracktown2017 is male or female). The negative vibes I get from him/her......

Sounds like it was beebee who may have gotten banned. Jamboy/trackcamp/whatever, as annoying as he is, didn't really post anything ban worthy, but beebee has zero self control it seems, always flies in in a confrontational manner, without adding anything at all to this discussion of Allyson Felix.

As AFelixFan pointed out, Allyson is taking it slow this year; she is in her 30s now and has nothing left to prove to be running weekly like some of these other girls. I hope to see her in peak form later this year, I hope the likes of ET/DS in the 200 and Shaunae in the 400 pull Allyson to some personal bests, or at least come close.

Let's face it, Felix has never really run extensively, she has always had limited competition compared to the other top sprinters. That is generally the Kersee way on the whole.
But choosing to run even less makes no sense. Competing doesn't mean you're more likey to get injured anymore than in training. And why choose low key meets? I don't like that type of preparation.

Of course you are more likely to get injured competing than training intensity is way higher.... come on now.

AF has done three relays and opens at on the 20th May..... let me say that again MAY people are going on like she's intending to open up a week before trials.

Low key meets give you the opportunity to work on things and really focus on technical components in a competitive environment, Can't do that vs Dafne and Elaine at Doha DL..... absolutely nothing wrong with that sort of prep
